山东省莱西经济开发区是1992年经省政府批准设立的省级开发区，位于莱西城区东部，紧邻莱西高铁新城，是新一代信息技术和智能制造集聚区、青岛先进制造业基地、电子商务生态产业集聚区、胶东一体化发展先行示范区。

  莱西经济开发区管辖范围为“一区三园”，即“核心区”和三个拓展园区，总面积约59.71平方公里。经济开发区“核心区”，交通便利，基础设施配套完善，重点发展新材料、健康食品、新一代信息技术和智能制造等主导产业。近年来，形成了以中科钢研碳化硅集成电路为代表的新一代信息技术产业集聚区，以中建材5.0中性硼硅药用玻璃、中国有研稀土等项目为代表的新材料产业集聚区，以韩国希杰、汉莎天厨为代表的健康食品产业集聚区，以FCP中德氢动力、金冠恒高铁智能装备、置信智造谷、绿天使高新技术等项目为代表的装备制造产业集聚区。目前，“核心区”已有中国建材、中科钢研、中国有研等一批国企央企纷纷进区投资。经济开发区三个“拓展园区”分别是沽河高端食品产业园、望城新材料产业园、济青烟（莱西）国际招商产业园，重点发展高端食品、新材料、新能源汽车制造和生物医药等业态为主的产业集群。经过多年发展，莱西经济开发区已经成为国内外优势要素汇聚的热土和各类精英人才创业的梦想之地。
